The 5th Extraordinary Summit of the Youth Model African Union (YMAU) is a full diplomatic experience where young people step into the shoes of the African Head of States and Presidents to simulate the African Union’s decision-making processes. The summit is designed to engage African youth in continental diplomacy, governance, and policymaking.

The summit mirrors the structure and operations of the African Union, offering young leaders a unique opportunity to collaboratively explore and address Africa’s most pressing challenges for African development. The 5th Extraordinary summit of YMAU will take place in African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, marking a historic moment in bringing young Africans into the very halls where continental decisions are made and will be held in collaboration with the African Union Commission, UNDP regional office Addis Ababa, Model AU-Ethiopia, Bahai International Community Organization, and Ethiopia Youth Dialogue for Peace.

    Position paper drafting, AU Agenda 2063, and the AU 1Million Next Level Campaign.

  • High-Level Keynote Speeches:

    Featuring leaders from AU, UNDP, embassies, government officials, and international organizations.

  • AU Simulations:

    Including the AU Assembly, Peace & Security Council, ECOSOCC, and African Commission on Human & Peoples’ Rights.

  • Interactive Engagement:

    Informal consultations, negotiations, lobbying, and grassroots idea-sharing.

  • Outcome Document:

    A youth-driven blueprint with actionable resolutions to advance the AU Agenda 2063.
